PHILIPPINES. Duty Free Philippines (DFP) and the Department of Tourism have opened DFP Luxe, the retailer’s ambitious new downtown store, at the SM Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City close to Manila. As reported, the store was developed to house the most upscale travel retail offer and environment in the country.
The 3,000sq m outlet, developed in partnership with Landmark Management Services, provides a previously lacking luxury ambience for prestige beauty, fashion and luxury brands, plus a range of related categories.
The store was inaugurated on 17 October (and opened on 18 October) by Department of Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo Puyat and Duty Free Philippines Chief Operating Officer Vicente Angala. They were joined by SMDC Chairman and CEO Henry Sy Jr , Prime Holdings President Jeffrey Lim, SM Supermalls President Annie Garcia, SM Supermalls Chief Operating Officer Steven Tan and Landmark Management Services President Jose Maria ‘Chim’ Esteban.
“We are pleased to launch Luxe, one of Duty Free Philippines’ world-class outlet stores in the Philippines that will cater to our Balikbayans, tourists and frequent travellers. Aside from our wide selection of imported products, Duty Free Philippines showcases the country’s finest products together with DTI’s Go Lokal shop, offering every Pinoy’s (Filipino’s) favourite pasalubong,” said Berna Romulo Puyat.
“Duty Free Philippines’ Luxe supports our overall objective of boosting Philippine tourism and will contribute to economic growth. We invite everyone to visit Luxe for its world-class items for an affordable price,” added Vicente Angala.
Leading luxury fashion names represented in the store include Coach, Bally, Longchamp, Kate Spade and Michael Kors, alongside beauty brands such as Chanel, Estée Lauder, La Mer, La Prairie, Clarins, MAC, Dior, Lancôme, Laneige, Bobbi Brown, Tom Ford, Jo Malone, Sulwhasoo and Shiseido, plus a number of Korean beauty brands.
