INTERNATIONAL. Welcome to the latest issue of The Moodie Davitt e-Zine. Of all the landmark moments in Duty Free Philippines’ 30-year history, the forthcoming opening of the retailer’s DFP LUXE downtown store promises to be right up among the biggest.

The 3,500sq m store will offer an unprecedented luxury ambience for prestige beauty and fashion brands, and a key shopping destination for foreign visitors and Filipinos alike. Martin Moodie spoke to Chief Operating Officer Vicente Pelagio Angala about the project, which is this week’s cover story.

Elsewhere in the issue, Keith Hunter, Co-Founder of Hunter Palmer – Global Retail Solutions assesses how inflight retail is being rethought for a new generation.

“We are now witnessing the rise of onboard purchasing where the product can be delivered to a passenger’s home or destination,” he says. “Those assigned to the inflight retail role, which at one time could have been considered a fairly easy one, may well now find themselves front and centre of the action.”

We also meet Piccnicc co-founders Jonny Goldstone and Avi Robinson, who are introducing the innovative new airside click-and-collect marketplace delivery service in early 2018. It could unlock significant opportunities for incremental business in both food & beverage and retail – and, they say, could also dramatically improve the airport experience.

Please enjoy this edition of The Moodie Davitt e-Zine with our compliments.
