Talking beauty and ecommerce: Influential market research firm The NPD Group to address Beauty Tech Live

INTERNATIONAL. Senior executives from leading market research company The NPD Group have joined the Knowledge Hub speaker lineup for Beauty Tech Live, set for 12-16 April.

The NPD Group will deliver key data and insights on the state of the beauty industry and highlight key ecommerce trends at the pioneering virtual event. They will also analyse how ecommerce will evolve in Europe, the US and China.

The panel of senior executives comprise The NPD Group Vice President and Beauty Industry Advisor Larissa Jensen, The NPD Group Director and Beauty Industry Analyst (Europe) Mathilde Lion, and The NPD Group Managing Director (APAC) Stanley Kee.

Lion will analyse online beauty sales in Europe’s top five markets, Jensen will present ecommerce data from the US and Kee will highlight online beauty trends in China.

Jensen is an expert in prestige skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair with a particular focus on the US market.

In her role as Vice President and Industry Advisor, she evaluates new business opportunities and trends for top beauty manufacturers worldwide.

She joined The NPD Group in 2005, following previous marketing positions at The Estée Lauder Companies and L’Oréal USA.

Jensen regularly shares her industry insights on The NPD Group blog. She is also a contributor to major US-based titles: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today and is on the Advisory Board for Beauty Packaging Magazine.

She also delivers keynote presentations at trade beauty events such as Cosmetic Executive Women, HBA Global Expo, Cosmoprof and The Society of Chemists.

Jensen is also a guest lecturer at Columbia University Business School and The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). She also serves on the Advisory Board for FIT’s CFMM Master’s Programme.

The NPD Group Director and Beauty Industry Analyst Europe Mathilde Lion

Lion brings more than 20 years of market research experience as European Director and Beauty Sector Analyst for The NPD Group. She is responsible for the strategic analysis and development of pan-European studies for the company. She also manages relationships between NPD’s European distribution and media partners.

She joined The NPD Group in 2005 and helped launch its BeautyTrends panel in France. Lion previously worked at data & insights companies Dun & Bradstreet and Kantar Worldpanel.

The NPD Group Managing Director APAC Stanley Kee

As Managing Director for The NPD Group’s APAC Business, Kee is responsible for leading the company’s business operations in China, Japan, South Korea and Australia.

Kee joined The NPD Group in 2018 and has more than 30 years of industry experience.

He was most recently GFK Commercial Director for APAC and Managing Director for South East Asia, where he helped grow GFK’s business in the Asia Pacific region for 17 years.

Kee also held leadership positions at Fujifilm Group and Sakata Inx Corp.

Beauty Tech Live is a pioneering virtual event that will showcase the joint worlds of beauty and technology. It is the first virtual expo of its kind in the sector, bringing together the latest tech innovations and solutions across all stakeholders in the beauty industry.

The event is being organised by the newly formed Moodie Davitt Virtual Expo Company in partnership with leading B2B beauty title BW Confidential.

The Beauty Tech environment has been curated by Singapore, London and Hong Kong agency FILTR to reflect the progressive, hi-tech nature of the sector
