Steffen Brandt maintains football hopes of a nation; Moodie Davitt 2018 FIFA World Cup Charity Competition update

INTERNATIONAL. And it’s Brandt… he shoots… he scores!

Yes, travel retail sports fans, Germany continues to dominate the Great Moodie Davitt 2018 FIFA World Cup Charity Competition after the latest round of matches on Thursday.

As reportedKing Power International (Thailand), which controls English Premier League club Leicester City, is the event’s official brand partner.

Despite plummeting into a deep depression after his beloved national side exited the tournament at the group stage, Steffen Brandt, Co-Founder & Manager of Miami-based travel retail specialist InnoTRI (and former CEO of Heinemann Asia Pacific and Heinemann Americas), actually stuck five points in the back of the net yesterday. He leads by two from The Moodie Davitt Report’s CTO (Chief Touchline Observer) Matt Willey.

In third-equal place, but a distant four behind Steffen, are that kilted, tango-dancing Argentine-Scottish travel retail consultant and journalist John Gallagher and a resurgent Bahrain Duty Free Head (or should that be Header?) of Operations Domnick O’Reilly, the competition’s long-time leader.

No fewer than five contestants sit just one point back on 46, including the fast-moving Toms Bergs of Stoli Group.

Steffen Brandt, Germany’s lone striker playing upfront…

Sophie Goujet of Concourse Display Management is the highest-place woman, just seven behind Steffen.

Not such good news for Denz Vanderlist of Cabeau, however, who slipped six places to 13th after failing to secure a single point. However, as reported, he well have been distracted by his company generating record sales of travel pillows to German fans returning home and wishing to cushion the blow.

The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie has slipped back to 17th on 41 points but that looks as good as Ronaldo preening himself in front of the mirror compared with his business partner Dermot Davitt, who is back in 51st place on 25 points. That’s even one point behind travel retail’s leading camel milk chocolate advocate, Al Nassma’s Patrick Dorais, a fact that has really given Dermot the hump.

The following prize monies will be awarded to the chosen charities of the winning contestants

1st – €3,000

2nd – €2,000

3rd – €1,000

Steffen has yet to name his charity although rumours suggest he may choose ROFIG (the Rehabilitation of Football In Germany).
