SSP America opens popular Mexican restaurant The Little Chihuahua at San Francisco International

US. SSP America has opened The Little Chihuahua at San Francisco International Airport’s new Harvey Milk Terminal 1.

The terminal is named after California’s first openly gay elected public official, who was assassinated in 1978. It is being developed in phases.

The Little Chihuahua opening follows the launch of other SSP-operated San Francisco favourites. These include The Manufactory Food Hall, which features Tartine Bakery, Tacos Cala and Kin Khao Thai Eatery, and local brunch pot, Sweet Maple.

The Little Chihuahua is regarded as one of San Francisco’s leading Mexican restaurants. It opened in 2007 in the Lower Haight neighbourhood and has, according to SSP America, developed into one of the “hottest taquerias” on San Francisco’s culinary landscape.

The Little Chihuahua Owners and Chefs Andrew Johnstone and Christopher Patella are committed to sourcing local, seasonal, sustainable ingredients to create fresh, healthy Mexican-inspired plates, SSP America said.

At San Francisco International, The Little Chihuahua breakfast, lunch and dinner menus highlight vegetarian dishes and include organic egg-based tacos, burritos and chilaquiles and Fried Plantain & Black Bean tacos. Beer and wine are served and the cocktail offering includes margaritas, Bloody Marias, Mexican Old-Fashioned, Buen Viaje, and, as a nod to the region, Adios San Francisco.

SSP America Vice President Business Development Paul Loupakos said the company was delighted to add The Little Chihuahua to the F&B options at San Francisco International. “Visitors and locals alike seek out The Little Chihuahua for its delicious, thoughtfully-sourced food and hospitality. Reflective of San Francisco’s dining scene, The Little Chihuahua puts NorCal spins on Mexican classics. From the drinks to the food, everything here is handcrafted to order and, with a conscience.”
