The three winners of an innovative dream chocolate recipe competition led by Manufacture Belge de Chocolats’ brand Rosalie’s have been revealed.
As reported, Rosalie’s – in association with The Moodie Davitt Report – offered anyone working in travel retail the opportunity to have their own chocolate recipe handcrafted by a master chocolatier.
Entries were assessed by Manufacture Belge de Chocolats Chef Chocolatier Noel Le Jeune. He selected the winners based on taste and creativity and then handcrafted their chocolates as personalised editions.
The winners, and their dream chocolates, were featured by Rosalie’s at this month’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

Dubai-based Lagardère Travel Retail Category Manager Confectionery & Gastronomy Tirthaa Chatterjee was the first winner to be announced on-stand.
Her Yin & Yang chocolates included bergamot, turmeric and pure nigella seeds. According to Le Jeune, they offered a balance of occidental and oriental notes, with a crunchy outer crust of seeds blending into a smooth chocolate centre.

The second winner was Con Barbayannis of Crown Duty Free. His dream recipe featured a chocolate centre with vanilla essence, honeycomb and a hint of cinnamon, in a dark shell with a touch of carrot extract providing colour.

MEADFA Operations Manager Micheline (El Ammar) was the third winner. She could not be at the Cannes event but her ‘Arabian Bliss’ recipe of dark chocolate, pistachio, coffee and cardamon was much appreciated by others during the TFWA World Exhibition.
The three winners will receive personalised boxes of their chocolates.
Speaking on behalf of Manufacture Belge de Chocolats, brand representative Gerry Murray said: “We were thrilled by the great response we had to the competition, which was an opportunity for industry colleagues and chocolate lovers to receive a one-off unique creation of their dream chocolate by our Chef Chocolatier.
“The creativity of the industry was great to see which set a huge challenge of our Chef to whittle down to three. Congratulations to the three winners and a big thank you to all entrants.”
