QDF to open new Paris Saint-Germain boutique as Qatar Airways seals shirt sponsorship deal

QATAR. Qatar Airways has been announced as the new Official Jersey Partner for French football champions Paris Saint-Germain. The multi-year partnership will commence at the start of the 2022/23 season, a season that will also see the hosting of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar starting in November.

The deal extends the Qatari flag carrier’s association with the famous French football club, having been its Official Airline Partner since 2020.

Hamad International Airport in Doha, voted as the Skytrax Airport of the Year for the second time in a row, and Qatar Duty Free (QDF) will be the Official Airport and Official Duty Free, respectively, of Paris Saint-Germain.p

Qatar Airways’ extensive sports portfolio includes sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, German football club Bayern Munich, Concacaf, Conmebol, and additional partnerships across multiple sports disciplines such as equestrianism, kitesurfing, padel and tennis.

Almost kick-off time for new PSG boutique

In related news, Qatar Duty Free will soon open a revamped Paris Saint-German (PSG) boutique at Hamad International Airport to replace the existing store. It will offer a wide array of official club merchandise, writes Martin Moodie.

The store promises to be a highlight of the retailer’s offer in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup in Doha.

With 46 major trophies across all competitions, Qatar Airways noted that Paris Saint-Germain is an iconic global club that transcends sport and incorporates the worlds of entertainment and fashion to be positioned as a leading sporting and lifestyle brand.

The French Champions, who play their homes at the Parc des Princes stadium, have won the Ligue 1 title ten times and are one of three clubs in Europe to reach the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League every season since 2012.

Paris Saint-Germain will play an important role in Qatar Airways’ extensive sponsorship portfolio and connect and engage its brand with the club’s fans worldwide. The club will provide “unique experiences” to reward the airline’s Privilege Club members, which is now the Official Frequent Flyer Programme of Paris Saint-Germain.

Additionally, Qatar Airways Holidays will be offering official Paris Saint-Germain fan travel packages, bringing football enthusiasts from around the world to Paris. Their packages – to include return flights, accommodation and match tickets – will give them the opportunity to explore Paris and see some of the best-known players in football, such as Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos.
