CHINA. The Moodie Davitt Report’s WeChat Official Account has reached a landmark 2,000 followers.

The Moodie Davitt Report is the only international travel retail media title to offer a WeChat platform. The service, published four times a month, complements the already strong and growing Chinese readership of our English language service.

The lead story highlighted Estée Lauder and China Duty Free Group’s Gifting Wonderland holiday campaign in Hainan. Estée Lauder’s annual holiday campaign returned with a bang with the launch of two simultaneous pop-ups at the CDF Mall and Haikou Mova Mall.

Walking in a gifting wonderland: The Estée Lauder Companies partnered with China Duty Free Group to host flagship brand Estée Lauder’s annual holiday campaign in Hainan. The festive ‘Gifting Wonderland’ ran from 2-30 December and featured a Night Shopping Festival, after-hours experience at the CDF Mall and a performance by Chinese singer Bibi Zhou. We also featured L’Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific’s stylish relaunch of its flagship boutiques for Lancôme, Kiehl’s and YSL Beauté at the China Duty Free Group-run Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex. The eco-designed stores take a holistic approach to sustainability from concept to construction and end-of-life recycling. Looking forward to celebrating its first anniversary later this month, Global Premium Duty Free (GDF) Plaza – which opened in Haikou Mova Mall on 31 January 2021 – launched its first WeChat mini-program. GDF members who have visited Hainan in the past 180 days are eligible to shop within the mini-program, which details a flash sale on products with discounts of up to -50%.
