Moodie Davitt launches on WeChat

CHINA. The Moodie Davitt Report has launched its WeChat Official Account, delivering weekly updates in the Chinese language on the duty free and travel retail world in China and beyond. Readers can sign up to follow our WeChat Official Account and receive regular updates through the QR code on this page.

The first WeChat post featured news highlights from the booming offshore duty free business in Hainan, with sections dedicated to the latest high-profile industry campaigns and to brand launches. Featured stories this week included the special Hainan report in the February edition of The Magazine and the latest news on the China International Consumer Products Expo, to be held in Hainan on 7-10 May.

Among the big brand and promotional news we report on in this week’s edition are Hennessy’s powerful Lunar New Year campaign; Clé de Peau Beauté’s stunning recent promotion with China Duty Free Group at CDF Mall, Haitang Bay; the arrival of the new Bowmore Timeless series (including a 31 Year Old expression) in Chinese duty free; major China launches from prestige skincare brand La Mer and eyewear group Luxottica, plus eye-catching boutique openings from Cognac houses Martell and Rémy Martin.

The Moodie Davitt Report is the first international travel retail publishing house to launch on the platform. It will offer a combination of China-specific and international news pertaining to the duty free, travel retail, aviation, and airport commercial revenue sectors from advertising and food & beverage to domestic terminal retail and ecommerce.

“The Moodie Davitt Report is already extremely well-read and respected in China but by launching on WeChat we will deepen our market penetration and readership throughout China and across all sectors of the airport and travel retail communities,” said The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie.
