KrisShop unveils #StayHome shopping concept for Singaporeans on lockdown

SINGAPORE. Omnichannel retailer KrisShop.com has responded to the government’s recently extended national lockdown to 1 June by launching KrisShop@Home, its latest concept store curated with items to enhance #stayhome moments.

Announcing the concept store to its consumer base, KrisShop said: “Most of us are well into a month of working from home and it’s quickly turning out to be less of the dream we once imagined it to be. Who would have thought that getting dressed for a video call would be the morning’s greatest challenge, or that you’d ever think I miss going to work?

“With the circuit breaker period extended till 1 June in Singapore, we can all but hear the collective groan of Singaporeans across the island. Surely the next month will herald renewed battles with spotty Internet connections, fresh episodes of distraught children demanding to go outside, and more conversations with yourself on whether you deserve yet another trip to the fridge.

“To preserve your sanity and see you through to the other side, KrisShop has launched KrisShop@Home, its latest concept store curated with essential items to enhance your typical #stayhome moments.”

The release then features a range of items (see below, together with KrisShop commentary) from KrisShop@Home – “thoughtfully selected to make your days more bearable”.

All items are home delivered. Additionally, from now until 3 May, consumers can enjoy up to -60% off over 600 items and -15% off regular-priced items with a S$200 (US$142) minimum spend with KrisShop’s Fabulous Deals promotion. With more people staying home during this period, the minimum spend for free local deliveries has been lowered from S$100 (US$71) to S$50 (US$36).

The moments when you miss you morning coffee (or tea) run: If you’re used to getting freshly extracted morning brews from your go-to coffee shop, settling for 3-in1 instant mixes is likely not working out well for you. The good news is, KrisShop has a selection of steamy set-ups so you can make your own six-dollar pick-me-up, straight from your kitchen.
The moments when your screen-strained eyes scream for a change in scenery: While you can’t change the #stayhome mandate, you can change your workspace so you feel that better about staying in. In fact, experts say that adding decorative touches to where you work can counteract any negativity or exhaustion that can creep in from hours of huddling in the same space. This can be as simple as hanging up a poster to liven the room, or even framing up your favourite photo for your desk.
The moments when you need to take a brain break (from everything):  One peril of working from home is the blurred line between office hours and personal time. Between connecting with your colleagues and caring for your children, it’s easy to start feeling like a machine. Studies show, though, that being too busy to take a break is a sure sign you need to slow down, and even a mini rest can do wonders for increasing your productivity. So put your feet up, stretch out and take some of that weight off. If you have kids, cajole them into joining you for that quick siesta, or coax them into giving you a few moments of quiet with some concentration-demanding sensory toys (below).

The moments when it’s time to let your domesticated side shine:    If you’re experiencing a bout of FOMO (fear of missing out) watching the growing crowd of home chefs and bakers on social media, KrisShop has a good bag of tricks to cure that green eye and place you in the centre of Instagram envy. With a couple of these brilliant kitchen assistants, channelling your inner domestic god or goddess will be easy as pie. Plus, for a change, you get to switch out your takeaway meal for a scrumptious home cooked spread.
The moments when you need to unwind after a long work day:  You’ve clocked in a solid eight hours at your day job but 6pm tends to feel like the start of the next shift. Think chores to do, bills to pay and bedtime stories to read. We know you’re a powerhouse but even superheroes need rest. To keep doing what you do best, be sure to set aside some me-time and begin that decompression action with a warm bath laced with essential oils. Listen to soothing tunes to power down and slather on a face mask to hydrate your skin for that extra glow in the morning.

The moments when you need a symbolic start to the weekend: While picnics at the park and Saturdate nights out are no longer viable options, the #stayhome weekend doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. Take the time to catch up on movies you have always wanted to watch with a perfect batch of popcorn, or shake up the house with your own happy hour(s) and impress the family with some home-made cocktails.
