“Online presence is the way to go,” says Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong as Foreo continues to expand its digital network in China travel retail

CHINA. Swedish beauty tech giant Foreo has launched on the Sunrise Duty Free (Shanghai) members’ app as it further enhances its online presence in Chinese travel retail.

The available range features some the company’s hero products including the Luna mini 3, Luna 3 and the Bear microcurrent device. It also showcases the upgraded UFO 2 which has been enhanced with thermo-therapy and cryo-therapy capacities.

Sunrise Duty Free’s regular livestream broadcasts each attract viewership of around 300,000. Foreo’s livestream debut on the app featured interactive elements and KOL participation. It also highlighted a wide range of Foreo products and outlined the key benefits of each line.

Foreo first launched on the Sunrise Duty Free Beijing app in May 2020. With traditional revenue streams heavily depressed by the COVID-19 crisis, the company focused on digital expansion to drive recovery.

In addition, Foreo is continuing to build its offline presence in Hainan’s booming offshore duty free sector with a regular stream of new retailer partnerships and counter openings.

“We are very pleased to have launched on the Sunrise Duty Free members’ app,” said Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong.

“Foreo is constantly seeking creative solutions to get ahead of the game and be at the forefront of digital expansion. A solid online presence is crucial for any brand in this day and age, and especially in the field of travel retail.

“Customers are becoming more tech savvy and are constantly seeking different ways to get their hands on the best buy. Online presence is definitely the way to go.

“We believe that this partnership will boost our sales and reach a whole new category of previously untapped consumers. With China’s ecommerce rate unmatched worldwide, the quest to work with as many online retailers as we possibly can is a massive undertaking of its own — however, if it pays off, and we are very sure that it will, it will be worth the battle.’’
