Wine O’Clock: First travel retail wine seminar to be staged at TFWA Cannes

INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Davitt Report and integrated retail marketing agency FILTR will host the travel retail industry’s first-ever wine seminar on the afternoon of Sunday 29 September 2019, during the TFWA World Exhibition and Conference in Cannes, France.

The event – titled ‘Wine O’Clock’– is a collaboration between several of the channel’s foremost wine companies, and will put the spotlight on the wine category and its burgeoning potential in the channel.

‘Wine O’Clock’ is being staged in the Marta Room at the Hotel Majestic in Cannes

Attendance will be on an exclusive invitation-only basis for key industry stakeholders, including retailers and airport executives

Brand owners representing several key wine-producing nations will participate in and co-sponsor the late afternoon event to be held before the TFWA Opening Cocktail.

The inaugural event will commence with a one-hour seminar followed by a networking session. Highlights of the afternoon’s agenda include tasting sessions and a panel discussion on the future of the category.

Despite dominating the global alcohol market, the wine category is consistently overshadowed and outperformed by spirits in travel retail. Wine O’Clock aims to address this conundrum

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “Wine O’Clock is about bringing together people who are passionate about wine and passionate about strengthening the category’s presence in the channel – something that we feel is long overdue.

“This will be an enjoyable and enlightening event. It is an opportunity to promote discussions on how to evolve the category and pursue growth together.”
