WHSmith and Ajit Khimji Group open seven stores at Muscat International

OMAN. WHSmith, in partnership with Ajit Khimji Group, has opened seven stores at Muscat International Airport’s new terminal. These include five WHSmith news , books and convenience (NBC) outlets, a landside convenience store under the Express by WHSmith brand and a souvenir store, Souq of Oman.

The Souq of Oman is the company’s first dedicated souvenir store within the region. The Express by WH Smith store is also the first of its format to open in the Middle East, with a product offer targeting landside customers.

WHSmith International Chairman Louis de Bourgoing said: “We are proud to open seven stores in the fantastic new Muscat Airport. We have been innovative in terms of our product offering, Sense of Place and store environment. These latest store openings strengthen our ten-year partnership with the Ajit Khimji Group.”

Ajit Khimji Group Managing Director Business Development Rishi Khimji added: “We are delighted with our continued presence at Muscat International Airport, which is testimony to the high standards we have achieved for over a decade. Muscat was the first Middle East destination for WHSmith and we are very proud of our association.”

WHSmith’s presence in the Middle East includes airport stores in UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as well as Oman.
