Vino Volo Director of Development Brian Holtman |
USA. Specialist wine travel retailer Vino Volo has named Brian Holtman as Director of Development, effective from 1 March.
He was previously responsible for all commercial activities at JetBlue’s New York JFK Terminal 5. Holtman will focus on developing business prospects in existing and new airport locations in North America as well as new channels of potential business for Vino Volo.
“We will be enhancing our development efforts in a big way with Brian joining Vino Volo,” said Vice President of Development Marco Di Bernardo. “He is a strong addition to our already impressive management team. His 14-plus years’ experience within the airport industry will give us even greater focus and momentum as we continue to grow and explore new opportunities.”
“We’re very excited to attract such great talent to Vino Volo as we continue to bring our national brand to travellers everywhere,” says CEO Doug Tomlinson.
Holtman began his career in airports when he joined the Allegheny County Airport Authority in his home town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He went on to work for BAA USA (now AIRMALL) and the redevelopment of Baltimore-Washington Airport. During this time, he was responsible for everything from operations management to the design and development of the concessions programme. He was also a key member of the start-up team that oversaw the redevelopment for Cleveland Airport.
For the last several years, he has managed JetBlue’s T5 retail, food & beverage and consumer services, resulting in annual sales of more than US$109 million (gross 2014).
Holtman said: “I’m looking forward to partnering with airports and management teams to continue to bring the Vino Volo experience to more airports where I know it will be well received by travellers. The concept’s growth and vision has always impressed me and the idea of joining the Vino Volo team was very exciting.”
