UK Travel Retail Forum updates website with increased focus on advocacy

UK. UK Travel Retail Forum (UKTRF), the membership organisation which represents the UK’s travel retail industry, today launched its refreshed website at www.uktrf.co.uk.

The new site has been built by Bluedog Group company HEX, a digital services and content specialist. It features a clean, easy to read and modernised design.

Notable changes to the website include a revamped advocacy section, which now features up-to-date information on UKTRF’s key campaigns, including the cross-sector campaign for arrivals duty free stores in the UK. The Forum has been pushing for this since Brexit, leading discussions on the expansion of tax-free shopping.

On the advocacy pages, visitors can download the most up-to-date resources, such as independent research from York Aviation into arrivals duty free, and briefings on UKTRF’s industry leading One Too Many campaign.

UKTRF members have access to an additional catalogue of campaign materials on these pages, in addition to further materials in the members’ area.

Also making its debut on the new website is UKTRF’s ESG statement, which makes ten pledges agreed on by UKTRF members. The pledges concern mitigating environmental impacts, waste reduction (food, plastic and water), social responsibility, and good governance and business ethics.

With a cluster of high-availability servers, UKTRF noted that the new website guarantees fast and reliable access globally and across all devices. “Existing frameworks have been modernised for a more responsive, interactive design, allowing for much more creativity as the site grows,” it added.

UKTRF Chairperson Nigel Keal said: “I am delighted to share UKTRF’s new and improved website. The new website will help us use every available avenue to deliver on our advocacy priorities, such as arrivals duty free, tax free, and disruptive passengers, by allowing UKTRF members better access to exclusive information, and helping the public better understand what it is we do.

“With a fresh look, we hope the site can serve as a one stop shop for anyone looking to learn more about the travel retail channel in the UK, and our Forum’s activities.”

HEX Managing Director Ollie Potter said: “It has been a real pleasure to work with UKTRF on this evolution of their website. HEX, part of the Bluedog Group, has a rich history in travel retail through our group agency Kounter, specialising in retail design, activations and much more.

“This group response enabled a joined-up approach of digital and industry knowledge to create a redesigned, secure website that met the needs of the travel retail audience. The previous site was active for seven years and I expect this new site to meet the needs of UKTRF for at least seven more.”
