Tourvest Retail Services adds ‘@seat order’ technology to British Airways inflight platform

UK. British Airways has unveiled a new inflight digital ordering platform, backed by ‘@seat order’ technology from Tourvest Retail Services.

The platform offers the airline’s Euro Traveller (short-haul economy) customers the option to order snacks and drinks mid-flight, directly to their seat.

The service was launched on selected routes from 19 July and will roll out across British Airways’ short-haul network on flights from London Heathrow Airport.

The new inflight ordering system complements the airline’s ‘Buy Before You Fly’ offering, where customers are encouraged to order from the Speedbird Café.

As reported, Tourvest launched the pre-order Speedbird Café online retail website, which includes items from British Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, with British Airways earlier this year.

British Airways Director of Brand and Customer Experience Tom Stevens said: “The feedback we have had from customers who have been able to travel and have ordered from our new Speedbird Café has been extremely encouraging.

“We think that this new digital ordering proposition, coupled with our pre-purchase option is a winning combination, catering for everyone’s needs.”

Tourvest Retail Services Chief Executive Officer Clive Jones celebrated the latest collaboration with British Airways on LinkedIn, underlining the company’s pride in leading the industry’s digital transformation.
