Highland distillery Tomatin today unveiled the latest addition to its global travel retail range, a 16 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky exclusive to the channel.
Tomatin 16 Year Old, bottled at 46% ABV, retails at €90 for a 700ml bottle. The expression draws much of its character from aging in Portuguese Moscatel wine barriques balanced with the subtle influence from traditional oak casks.
The single malt carries rich flavours of traditional orange marmalade, sun-dried fruits and dark chocolate with a hint of fresh ginger and a long, waxy finish.
The new expression joins Tomatin’s travel retail range which comprises 8 Year Old (matured in bourbon and sherry casks); 12 Year Old (a one-litre version of Tomatin’s flagship malt); 21 Year Old (matured in bourbon barrels); and 40 Year Old, a premium oloroso sherry expression.
Tomatin Sales Director Graham Nicolson said: “Our travel retail range showcases the unrivalled variety of casks we have to offer.
“We are constantly striving to push the boundaries within our portfolio and our global travel retail range is no exception. The distinctive cask maturation of this 16 Year Old expression is an impressive and welcome addition to the range.”
