Thomas Friberg joins The Nuance Group from COOP / Bygg & TrädgÃ¥rd, Sweden’s biggest Do-it-yourself chain, where he was Business Area Manager


SWEDEN. The Nuance Group has appointed Thomas Friberg as General Manager Sweden effective 1 June.

He joins from COOP/ Bygg & TrädgÃ¥rd, Sweden’s biggest Do-it-yourself chain, where he was Business Area Manager.

Friberg started his career in Swedish retailing in 1983 with Gröna Konsum and later moved on to COOP Forum, Sweden’s largest retail chain. He worked in the functions of Sales Manager (responsible for 115 shops, 1700 employees and SEK 3 billion in sales) and as Project Manager Concept Development, implementing category management and leading COOP’s approach to e-business.

He was also a member of the COOP Hypermarket leadership team.

The Nuance Group CEO Europe Jean-Paul Bonnel commented: “I am pleased to have Thomas with his great experience in Swedish retail on board. His knowledge will benefit both our people and our operation in Sweden, where we are currently implementing an important refurbishment programme.”
