This week on Instagram… CDFG dazzles in Beijing while Etihad Airways goes green with new 787 Greenliner

Social media has emerged as a key unofficial source of information in the digital age. As The Moodie Davitt Report steps up its mission to become ‘the KOL of B2B travel retail publishing’ (a phrase coined by leading Chinese WeChat platform Globuy), our new weekly feature curates some of the most exciting travel retail industry updates from the social media sphere – and touches on our own contributions.

This week on Instagram our Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie was in Beijing for the spectacular inauguration of China Duty Free Group’s retail offer at Daxing International Airport.

Elsewhere in Asia, Edrington Charity Cyclists set off on an EPIC (we explain the acronymn) 600 km ride for their fifth annual major fundraising effort, this year to support the Baan Dek Foundation.

In the Middle East, Etihad Airways previewed its brand new 787 Greenliner in partnership with Boeing. A one-of-a-kind aircraft that will be used a testbed for technology, products, and initiatives designed to reduce carbon emissions.

Meanwhile in Oman, Dubai Duty Free celebrated the 49^th National Day of the Sultanate of Oman with a heartfelt tribute. Finally, TFWA News counted down to the upcoming MEADFA Conference with a video snippet from MEADFA Vice President Sherif Toulan.

2. The Edrington Philanthropists in Cycling (EPIC) group began their 600km ride in the Chiang Mai province of Northern Thailand to raise money for the Baan Dek Foundation

3. Etihad Airways introduced its 787 Greenliner in an effort to reduce its carbon emissions. The Greenliner takes to the skies in early 2020.
