The World Rovers Online – the story of the Irish influence on global duty free – 23/04/07

IRELAND. The World Rovers is a unique publication from The Moodie Report that recognises Ireland’s profound influence in the duty free industry over the past 60 years. It was launched last month at the Irish Village in Dubai, that home from home for the Irish overseas. In it, we trace the early origins of modern-day duty free in Shannon, Ireland and follow the Irish pioneers who left home to make their mark on our industry worldwide.

“In dreams begins responsibility”

-William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)

“I think that duty free shops have a great part to play in the world
because they are an extraordinary kind of world link”; a universal

gesture at airports”

-Dr Brendan O’Regan, founder of the airport duty free business
