Diageo Global Travel & Middle East (GTME) has unveiled the latest addition to The Singleton Reserve Collection, with a single malt Scotch whisky exclusive to Asia Pacific travel retail.
The Singleton of Glen Ord Artisan is hand-crafted once a year in small batches of individually-numbered bottles. As with other editions in the collection, the Singleton of Glen Ord was created by Master of Malt Maureen Robinson.
It is finished in Pedro Ximenez wood casks, creating what is described as a rich, decadent and smooth Scotch whisky. It is available from November 2013 in selected Asia Pacific travel retail outlets priced at US$149 for a one-litre bottle.

Diageo said the latest edition was the pinnacle of the collection, joining The Singleton of Glen Ord Liberté and The Singleton of Glen Ord Trinité.
Diageo GTME Marketing Director Steve White said: “The introduction of The Singleton Reserve Collection has been one of the most significant advances in the malt whiskies category in global travel retail for many years.
“The Singleton of Glen Ord Artisan epitomises the contemporary artistry of whisky-making, creating a new taste sensation that matches the desire of today’s consumers for unique flavours. It also represents further commitment to the single malt category by extending our fully differentiated, exclusive offerings in the channel.”
“I created The Singleton of Glen Ord Artisan to celebrate the innovation that has remained at the heart of whisky-making for centuries by using a rare finishing technique to develop its exquisite flavour,” said Maureen Robinson.
“The taste is rich and refined with hints of dried fruit sweetness, delicate notes of fresh fruit mixed with spice and ginger – for me it’s the perfect accompaniment for life’s treasured moments.”
