The Moodie Davitt Report unveils first Virtual Travel Retail Expo

INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Davitt Report today announces its inaugural Virtual Travel Retail Expo, to be held on 10-11 September.

The event will replace the 2020 Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards, previously scheduled for 2-3 September in Istanbul. It will also integrate the planned inaugural Sightlines Airport Advertising & Communications Awards & Workshop, and house a retailer and brand pavilion.

“Crucially, delegate attendance will be free to airports, retailers and other commercial service providers, and brands, thus ensuring that these key sectors of the travel retail community can get together without having to leave their desks”

Delegates from all over the world will be able to visit exhibitors, enter a private chat room with them, view products in brochure, video and pictorial form and much more besides in a private business format. All exhibitors will receive a full ROI analytics and lead report detailing all attendees who visited their virtual stand.

Elements include:

  • The FAB Expo & Awards
  • The Sight Lines Airport Advertising & Communications Expo & Awards
  • Moodie Davitt Travel Retail Expo
Virtual becomes reality: The Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo is born

“With the COVID-19 outbreak still raging in much of the world and all industry stakeholders reeling from the commercial impact of the related travel crisis, we felt it inappropriate to host our planned physical events as early as September,” said The Moodie Davitt Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie.

“Instead we will both host these important sector awards while offering a range of service providers the opportunity to showcase their talents and services at our inaugural Virtual Travel Retail Expo. Crucially, delegate attendance will be free to airports, retailers and other commercial service providers, and brands, thus ensuring that these key sectors of the travel retail community can get together without having to leave their desks.

“That makes our event cost-effective and environmentally appropriate during a very difficult period for our industry. Exhibition space, which will be accessibly priced and carefully segmented, can be curated to each exhibitor’s needs, positioning and budget; while the symposium and awards elements will ensure that education and excellence are also to the fore.”

The Moodie Davitt Report President and Co-Owner Dermot Davitt added: “We thank our original 2020 FAB hosts, Istanbul Airport and Tum & Ictur, for their great support and we look forward to returning to Turkey in physical form when the business climate improves. For now, though, we believe we can best achieve the stakeholder interaction that is so vital to our industry through a virtual event that saves all parties costs, and which will supplement (and support through complimentary promotion) the various physical events that others will host later in the year.”

A full schedule and programme is currently being finalised. In the meantime please contact Sarah Genest at Sarah@MoodieDavittReport.com or Martin@MoodieDavittReport.com to register your interest or for any inquiries.

As reported, entries for the FAB Awards 2020 close on 5 June.
