The Moodie Davitt Report launches the Travel Retail Talent Retention Scheme

INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Davitt Report has today launched the Travel Retail Talent Retention Scheme, an initiative designed to assist those whose jobs have been lost during the COVID-19 crisis – and to help employers once recovery is underway.

As the disease has raged across the world, prompting the collapse of travel worldwide, many outstanding management and staff have lost their jobs in the aviation, cruise, retail and F&B sectors.

The Travel Retail Talent Retention Scheme will serve as a central database from which employers can recruit candidates (full-time, part-time, project/consultancy basis etc) once the recovery starts, without having to pay headhunters’ fees, thus benefiting all parties. No charges whatsoever will be levied by The Moodie Davitt Report.

To be registered on the database, all you need to do is send your CV, contact details, key job categorisation (buyer; merchandiser; finance; human resources; communications; store manager etc) and any brief details covering information on position sought, desired geographic location, specific expertise etc to info@MoodieDavittReport.com or Martin@MoodieDavittReport.com

All those on the database will be kept involved in industry happenings by complimentary receipt of Moodie Davitt Report bulletins.

Appropriate discretion will always be applied to any employer recruitment request.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “I have seen too many good people laid off in our industry to just sit back and hope for the best for them. I have seen too many comments on LinkedIn and other social media bemoaning the sadness of the situation to allow that. From the pressures on my own business, I understand the situation far too well for comfort. I have had to furlough some of my best people, something that sits uncomfortably with me. We need the equivalent of a ‘Get Back to Work’ initiative and this represents our effort at that, via an initiative that also assists employers who will be under great strain for some time to come.

“We’ll be reaching out via our extensive airport, cruise line, airline, commercial operator and brand network to encourage them to highlight each and every available opportunity and to save them recruitment costs. The plan is also to publicise projects, consultancies etc that require specific skills and gradually get people earning again.”
