‘The best gift of all’: Heathrow unveils Christmas video campaign

UK. Heathrow Airport has launched its first Christmas video campaign, entitled ‘the best gift of all’.

The poignant film, set to a Chas and Dave soundtrack, portrays the message that coming home for Christmas is better than any other gift that people will give at this time of year.

The ad follows two ageing teddy bears as they land at Heathrow. It captures tender moments between the couple; from the wife waking her sleeping husband in his seat, to him helping her onto the escalator.

As they travel through the airport, the film captures all the familiar sights and sounds of the UK’s leading hub airport. Finally the elderly bears emerge blinking into Arrivals, searching the crowds for those waiting for them.

The video marks the latest phase of Heathrow’s brand campaign designed to celebrate its 70th anniversary and follows Heathrow’s First Flight launched this summer

Heathrow Commercial Director Jonathan Coen said: “Christmas is my favourite time of year at Heathrow – the airport is abuzz with families and friends reuniting for this special time of year. We love the film and hope the bears’ journey through the airport captures that excitement you feel when walking through Heathrow Arrivals into the arms of your loved ones at Christmas.”

The campaign was created by advertising agency Havas, directed by DOM&NIC through Outsider Productions and animated by The Mill. The piece was filmed over three days while Heathrow was fully operational.
