TAV Airports division captures passenger lounges contract at Washington Dulles Airport

USA. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has awarded TAV America Operation Services a ten-year passenger lounge concession at Washington Dulles International Airport.

TAV America is partnering with Capital One Financial, a financial services company based in McLean, Virginia, to renovate 9,100sq ft of space at the base of Dulles International’s original FAA control tower, to open what will become the world’s first Capital One-branded airport passenger lounge in 2021.

The TAV-Capital One lounge partnership will enhance the hospitality and consumer offer at Washington Dulles Airport

“With this currently under-utilised space, our concessions team led by Deven Judd, Director of Customer and Concessions Development, and Business Specialist Stacey Armstead, saw an opportunity to add even more value for passengers traveling through Dulles International,” said Airports Authority Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Jerome L. Davis.

“We look forward to working with both TAV Operations Services and Capital One in offering this exciting new passenger-focused amenity at the National Capital Region’s leading international airport.”

“We are thrilled with the opportunity we have been provided by the Airports Authority to build and operate a world-class lounge at Dulles, and we could not be more excited than to do it with our partner, Capital One,” said TAV Operations Services CEO Guclu Batkin.

“Together, we will bring an unmatched travel services experience to Washington, D.C. fliers. With the addition of the Dulles lounge project, and lounges we’ve recently opened at New York and Florida airports, this is just the beginning of our growth in the Washington Metropolitan area and in select markets throughout the US.”

“At the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, we take a passenger-first approach and strive to provide the best possible travel experience for our customers,” said Chryssa Westerlund, Vice President for Marketing and Consumer Strategy. “The addition of a non-airline affiliated lounge at Dulles International is the latest example of how we’re focused on improving the passenger experience.”

TAV Operation Services, the parent company of TAV America Operation Services, manages more than 80 passenger lounges in 41 airports across the globe, serving 8 million passengers annually at locations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, including the Turkish Airlines-Star Alliance Lounge at Dulles International.
