AUSTRALIA. Sydney Airport has announced an Australian airport first, with leading jeweller Tiffany & Co. confirmed among a strong brand line-up at the new T1 luxury precinct. The Tiffany store will open in the first half of this year.
It will be one of 13 luxury designer brands introduced at the airport as part of a major upgrade of retailing in the International Terminal.
Tiffany & Co. will occupy the largest store footprint in the 1,900sq m luxury precinct. In addition to the brand’s diamond engagement rings, the store will showcase diamonds and gemstones, fine and sterling silver jewellery, the creations of Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso and Jean Schlumberger, signature collections such as Tiffany T, watches, gifts, and leather accessories.
“By welcoming Tiffany & Co. to T1, we’re creating an enviable luxury retail shopping experience for our international passengers, with some of the most recognised brands in the world and T1 will be the only airport destination in Australia where passengers can shop for these brands,” said Sydney Airport General Manager, Retail Glyn Williams.
“The new luxury precinct within T1 Departures will soon showcase a vast selection of premier designers, providing more choice for passengers with a range of brands and new and on-trend luxury products across fashion, technology and lifestyle.”
The airport company said T1 would “soon be one of Sydney’s leading fashion destinations, offering an international retail mix delivering more choice and value to customers”.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of Tiffany & Co. and bring over 175 years of design excellence to Sydney Airport’s T1. The T1 International terminal provides the perfect environment for our customers to experience a premier shopping experience before they fly,” said Tiffany & Co. Vice President and Managing Director Oceania, Glen Schlehuber.
The revitalisation of T1’s luxury precinct will be complemented by a new premium food and dining precinct and the completed duty free offering with partner Gebr Heinemann.
