‘Street Flavours’ – Ever Rich showcases Taiwan’s gastronomic culture at Taoyuan Airport T2

TAIPEI. Ever Rich Group has opened a ‘Street Flavours’ themed gourmet corner and dining zone at Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2, Gate C3, to coincide with the start of the peak summer travel season.

The area showcases the flavours of Taiwan’s culinary scene and features a curated selection of renowned culinary establishments. These include VWI by ChadWang, a brand led by world coffee champion Chad Wang (winner of the World Brewers Cup Championship at 29 years old); Le Moût Pâtisserie Boulangerie, helmed by renowned female chef Lanshu Chen; Halal Beef Noodles, known for its diverse culinary offerings and Wang’s Broth, popular for its Michelin-recommended black gold mushroom braised pork rice.

The gate lounge houses interactive audio-visual installations and thematic displays that showcase the richness of Taiwanese culinary culture.

To begin the summer travel season, on 30 June Ever Rich organised a special event, inviting performance groups to entertain and engage departing passengers. The event featured circus performances and a parade.

At the ‘Street Flavours’ gate lounge, Ever Rich has designed several distinctive zones. The Night Market Themed Wall showcases Taiwan’s popular street foods, while a visual narrative showcases the traditional culinary craftsmanship of master chefs conducting handcrafted feasts.

Travellers can select from three common banquet scenarios in Taiwan – wedding banquets, milestone celebrations or year-end banquets – and witness the corresponding traditional dishes projected onto their dining tables.

The ambience immerses passengers in the vibrant atmosphere of a real night market, complete with the sounds of street food vendors, and the seating features whimsical bowl-shaped designs, combining traditional and retro aesthetics to create a fun and engaging sensory experience.

A ‘Destined Delicacy Calendar’ has also been created, allowing travellers to discover their personalised gourmet recommendations through birthday-themed fortune-telling and QR code functionality. This feature enables passengers to explore ‘Divine and Auspicious Cuisine’ culinary experiences.

To meet the demand for quality airport dining services, Ever Rich has brought new experiences such as premium coffee from Chad Wang to the airport, as noted above, alongside nostalgic village-style eatery Matsu New Village, which presents Taiwan’s classic drinks, Chinese hamburgers and wheel cakes.

Another addition that evokes traditional cuisine is the Lao Zhang Halal Beef Noodle unit. Starting as a small stall and now run by the third generation, it is a certified Halal establishment that insists on using pure beef bone broth, capturing the authentic and original flavours of Halal beef noodles.

Ever Rich Vice President Patricia Pan said Ever Rich continuously “strives for excellence to meet consumers’ diverse demands and expectations for high-quality dining experiences”.

She noted that Ever Rich aims to provide travellers with memorable culinary experiences that leave a lasting impression of Taiwan, and add a warm and affectionate human touch, which Ever Rich said is a Taiwanese characteristic presented through the enjoyment of food.

The company also stated: “Cuisine is an important part of consumers’ travel itineraries and serves as the main battleground for showcasing a country’s cultural strengths and attracting tourists.

“Taiwan possesses a unique advantage in its rich culinary culture, with a diverse array of flavours and delicacies from all corners of the island. Embracing this concept as its core, Ever Rich aims to bring Taiwan’s abundant culinary and experiential culture to travellers, to not only experience delicious cuisine but also appreciate the local culture and atmosphere.”

In the pipeline are plans to introduce renowned establishments such as Smart Fish and Taiwan’s first airport vegetarian dining experience, Vege Creek, said the company. ✈
