Stellar line-up in Singapore: Changi Airport awards 11 luxury leases in Terminal 3

SINGAPORE. Changi Airport Group has named the winners of 11 luxury store leases at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3. They include major fashion names that will operate their stores directly, while DFS Group, King Power Group (HK), Dufry and Lagardère Travel Retail have also won contracts with brand partners.

DFS Group (through DFS Venture Singapore) captured three of the spaces. It will run concessions I and J as a single Gucci boutique, as well as a Burberry store (concession K).

Lagardère Travel Retail will manage a Longchamp store (concession A), King Power partnered with Furla to win concession B and Dufry won concession C with MCM. Concessions D to H were captured by Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Tiffany & Co., Prada and Hugo Boss and their local subsidiaries.

The new luxury concessions will join the impressive retail line-up in the Changi T3 airside ‘Shopping Street’

As reported, the airport company called for bids in July through a Direct Marketing Exercise.

The concessions were made available in two clusters, one of four and another of seven outlets, all in T3 Departure/Transit Lounge South. Concessions A to D (Cluster 1) range in size from 26sq m to 86sq m, while the larger concessions E to K (Cluster 2) range in size from 100sq m to 135sq m.

All contracts will run for three years, with no option for renewal in any case. Concessions A and C begin on 9 July 2019, B runs from 15 May 2019, D, F and G from 1 July 2019 and E from 17 January 2020. Concession H runs from 24 September 2019, I and J from 1 September 2019 and K from 9 September 2019.

The awards come amid a major period of leasing and renewal for key Changi Airport concessions. As reported, DFS (liquor & tobacco) and Shilla (beauty) recently gained two-year extensions to their six-year concessions from 2020.
