Starboard Cruise Services hires former Virgin Voyages VP to lead new luxury division

USA. Miami-based cruise retail concessionaire Starboard Cruise Services has created a Luxury Division and appointed ex-Virgin Voyages Vice President of Sales & Business Development Stacy Shaw to lead it.

In the new role, Shaw will directly oversee Starboard’s portfolio of luxury cruise line brands and lead new business development efforts, As part of that strategy she “will identify partners in land-based luxury travel that are seeking highly-curated retail experiences” according to Starboard, owned LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

Shaw spent two years at Virgin Voyages in Miami from 2017 where she led the sales organisation in the latest entrepreneurial venture of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group. She was with Royal Caribbean Cruises for 11 years before that, most recently as Vice President of Sales & Business Development. She also had a two-year stint at Carnival Cruise Line from 2003 to 2005.

Ensuring differentiated offerings”

Starboard’s new Luxury Division will act as the company’s centre of excellence for luxury experiences. It will support all of Starboard’s dedicated cruise line account brand teams by creating concepts and developing upscale retail experiences based on specific customer profiles. The company says this will “ensure differentiated offerings relevant for each brand and its guests”.
