SSP becomes Platinum Partner at the Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Conference & Awards

THAILAND/INTERNATIONAL. Leading international travel food & beverage provider SSP has become a Platinum Partner at the Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Conference & Awards, run by The Moodie Davit Report, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on 12-13 September.

As reported, FAB makes a welcome return in 2023 after a four-year absence due to the pandemic.

The event is dedicated to the burgeoning world of airport food & beverage as well as (for the first time) other airport hospitality services, including lounges and hotels.

SSP Chief Executive Officer Patrick Coveney said: “We are delighted to be supporting this year’s FAB Conference and Awards as a Platinum Sponsor, particularly given this year’s exciting location.

“Asia has always been an important geography for SSP, and it’s great to see the region returning to strength as a driver of the global travel F&B market.

“We first began trading in Bangkok in 1995 under a successful joint venture partnership with Minor Food Group, and since then our business has grown significantly, operating 80 units at nine airports and employing around 1,300 colleagues.

“My colleagues and I very much look forward to attending the FAB conference and taking part in this year’s discussions about the trends now shaping our market and future opportunities – and of course celebrating the amazing work of our teams and those across the industry.”

Once again in 2023, FAB Women – a highlight of the 2019 event – will be featured

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said, “We are delighted and honoured to welcome back SSP, a perennial partner of the event since its launch in 2011, to FAB 2023.

“As Patrick Coveney well notes, the resurgence of airport F&B in Asia Pacific is particularly encouraging. The timing and location of this year’s FAB is therefore particularly important and appropriate.

“Airport food & beverage is playing a crucial role for airports, operators and consumers amid the global travel recovery and we are excited to celebrate that role during an event that makes such a welcome return after a four-year absence.” ✈

SSP has been a perennial supporter of FAB since the inaugural event held so memorably underneath a British Airways Concorde at Manchester Airport in January 2011 (pictured above and below)

The company also hosts The Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Conference & Awards, which will take place on 12-13 September in Bangkok, Thailand after a four-year COVID-driven absence. Notably, FAB’s remit has been extended this year to feature wider airport hospitality services, including hotels and lounges.
