Shiseido showcases skin beauty innovations at Virtual Travel Retail Expo and Cannes

“Travel retail remains the ultimate global showcase of our brands,” says Philippe Lesné as Shiseido gears up for a dual showing at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo and TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes

Shiseido Travel Retail is reinforcing its commitment to the travel retail channel by showcasing its powerful brand portfolio with a special focus on prestige and beauty at both the Virtual Travel Retail Expo and TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (24-28 October).

Shiseido Travel Retail is highlighting key launches, consumer-centric marketing strategies and market-specific plans for 2022, aligned under Shiseido Group’s WIN 2023 and Beyond medium-to-long-term strategy.

Additonally, Shiseido President, CEO & Executive Officer Masahiko Uotani features in a standout session in the Knowledge Hub at the Virtual Travel Expo on 11 October, talking to The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie in a fascinating dialogue recorded on the eve of the event.

Since assuming leadership in December 2013 of Japan’s most powerful beauty group, Masahiko Uotani has driven a remarkable rejuvenation and modernisation of a once ultra traditional group. Part of that revitalisation has centred on travel retail, leading to the creation of a dedicated division in 2016 that has performed strongly since. Despite the global pandemic and its impact on international travel, Uotani-San and Shiseido have remained deeply committed to travel retail. In this one-to-one interview, he will explain why.

“Travel retail remains the ultimate global showcase of our brands, and we believe it will emerge stronger and more resilient,” commented Shiseido Travel Retail President & CEO Philippe Lesné. “Shiseido Travel Retail’s presence in both trade events underlines our strong commitment to the industry, and our teams are excited to reconnect virtually and physically with valued partners and stakeholders.

“As the physical and digital worlds continue to merge in the new normal, we see this as a pivotal opportunity to further strengthen our capabilities in consumer experience and online-to-offline engagement with travellers. We look forward to showcasing our offerings for the new travel retail landscape and fruitful discussions with our retailer partners to build a successful future together.”
