Setur Duty Free lands duty free & duty paid contract at Cologne Bonn Airport

TÜRKİYE. Leading travel retailer Setur Duty Free has won a tender at Cologne Bonn Airport to operate duty free and duty paid stores across 1,500sq m of space under a seven-and-a-half year contract.

The Koç Group-owned travel retailer has pledged that the stores, which are spread across the German airport’s two terminals, “will deliver a unique customer journey for all customer profiles”.

Setur Duty Free said it will deliver a wide product range, customer-centric store design, innovative digital solutions and a strong approach to sustainability in executing its new contract.

The retailer added that it will aim to maximise customer experience by using a data driven business approach and digital retail experience, to fulfil the potential of the travel retail trading opportunities at Cologne Bonn Airport.

The airport – which hosted 12.4 million passengers in 2019 – is the source of flights to more than 100 different destinations, with particularly strong connections to Turkey, Spain, Italy and the German domestic market.

Setur Duty Free CEO Ahmet Sönmez said: “Setur Duty Free, a pioneer and most widespread duty free company in Turkey, is operating 50 stores throughout 20 locations with a total sales area of 22,000sq m at land borders, seaports, and airports.
