Rodenstock names Patrick Dempsey as the new face of Porsche Design

American Actor Patrick Dempsey will star in all of Porsche Design’s print, in-store and digital marketing campaigns

German eyewear specialists Rodenstock has named American actor Patrick Dempsey as the face of its Porsche Design Eyewear brand.

He will star in all of the brand’s print, in-store and digital marketing materials in both travel retail and domestic markets. Dempsey will wear four Porsche Design sunglasses and prescription glasses across various campaigns throughout the year.

He will also feature in the brand’s in-store point of sale material and on various PR and social media activations.

Dempsey is well-known for his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd in the hit medical television drama series, Grey’s Anatomy, which earned him two Golden Globe awards. He is currently starring in the Sky Atlantic finance thriller, Devils.

According to the brand, Dempsey is an accomplished race car driver and passionate about motor sports, making him the ideal brand ambassador for Porsche Design. He also successfully completed numerous 24 Hours of Le Mans races and co-founded his own racing team, Dempsey-Proton Racing.

The brand also noted that the Hollywood actor shares the same initials as the Porsche Design logo ‘P.D.’
