Rémy Cointreau partners with Heinemann in entertaining activation at Copenhagen Airport

Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail (GTR) and Gebr Heinemann have partnered in an eye-catching activation at Copenhagen Airport.

‘Le cocktail Show’, in the Terminal 2 Heinemann store, runs throughout April. It invites consumers to ‘be part of the mix’, highlighting Cointreau’s heritage, panache and versatility as the brand celebrates its 170th anniversary this year.

Playing a first in travel retail: The mixologist/pianist is top attraction at the entertaining Le Cocktail Show.

The circular pop-up encourages travellers’ engagement via a vintage half-moon bar and a cocktail-making piano which is the first of its kind in travel retail according to the brand owner.

A pianist, acting as a musical mixologist, formulates Cointreau cocktails by striking keys which connect with specific cocktail ingredients in bottles positioned above the piano. They are connected to tubes that meet in a glass perched on the music rack.

The pianist entertains and serves up non-shaken cocktails while a bartender offers tastings of Cointreau Fizz and other classic Cointreau cocktails.

Le Cocktail Show is running at Copenhagen Airport until the end of the month.

Rémy Cointreau CEO Liqueurs & Spirits Jean-Denis Voin said: “With Cointreau, a simple cocktail becomes an extraordinary one. We are proud to create this extraordinary client retail experience with Gebr Heinemann. Cointreau is a leading brand in the liqueurs category and unavoidable in airports shelves around the world.”

Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail Managing Director Americas & EMEA Sebastien Devallet commented: “Born in the wake of French Golden Age of Arts, when French culture and art spread around the world, Cointreau profoundly believes in the power of creativity and audacity.

“Through Le Cocktail Show, we are bringing emotion and artistic energy to the travel retail experience. We wanted to create something unexpected with ce-je-ne-sais-quoi; something that makes travellers stop, listen and share in the quintessential Cointreau cocktail experience.

“We appreciate Gebr Heinemann’s ongoing support and efforts in helping us to consistently deliver fresh ways to surprise our clients.”

Travellers are invited to share in the “quintessential Cointreau cocktail experience” during the promotion at Copenhagen International.

Gebr Heinemann Director Purchasing Liquor Tobacco Confectionery and Fine Food Rüdiger Stelkens added: “Gebr Heinemann is honoured to be the first partner for Le Cocktail Show at Copenhagen Airport with such a unique activation.

“The piano cocktail bar is one of the most exciting concepts that we’ve implemented in this space, and it’s been received with such awe and delight from travellers. It goes beyond traditional retail entertainment, connecting with customers on a more emotional level and providing an experience and lasting memories for our shoppers, which is what we aim to bring them every day.”

Rémy Cointreau GTR said further Le Cocktail Show activations will take place across global travel retail later this year.
