Pola takes first airport travel retail steps outside Japan with Shilla at Changi

Japanese beauty company Pola will tomorrow (6 August) open its first airport store outside of Japan with The Shilla Duty Free at Changi Airport Terminal 2.

Pola products will also be available on iShopChangi beginning September.

Changi Airport is seen as a key strategic hub for the brand’s expansion in Asia. Pola plans to open further stores in key ASEAN countries.

The new counter highlights Pola’s premium B.A. Aging Care brand. It features a sleek black design to mirror the brand’s modernist aesthetic.

The Shilla Duty Free Singapore Managing Director Jeff Lee said, “The partnership with Pola is in line with our dedication to give travellers easy access to experience coveted brands, and also adds to our exciting umbrella of beauty offerings.”

The counter leverages the strength of the B.A brand in travel retail. According to the company, annual sales for the B.A. brand have surpassed ¥40 billion (US$37.6 million), supported by growing brand awareness particularly in China and elsewhere in Asia. Products such as the B.A. Lotion (Changi retail price S$246, or around US$179), B.A. Wash (S$123/US$89), and B.A. Eyezone Cream (S$221/$161)are among the brand’s strongest performers.
