AUSTRALIA. Plaza Premium Group has revealed its latest airport dining concept – Terrace Chinese Kitchen – at Sydney Airport.
The concept is related to Chinese restaurant The Terrace, led by Executive Chinese Chef Sum Wai-kwong, at Hong Kong International Airport.
Located at Terminal 1, Pier B in International Departures, the 1,500sq ft outlet showcases a range of Chinese culinary delicacies, including Roasted Pork Belly Bao buns, Sweet and Sour Pork, Chinese Saviour Crepe and steamed dumplings. Traditional favourites are also on the menu including Dim Sum and fried rice with a choice of protein and a variety of stir fries.
The 50-seat unit is said to resemble a “stylish Hong Kong eatery”. It features round Chinese deco window screens, nostalgic bird cage lighting, gourd shaped bronze Chinese herbal tea pot, and a live cooking kitchen station.
To celebrate the opening of Terrace Chinese Kitchen, there is a -10% discount on all menu items until 28 February 2017. Terrace Chinese Kitchen is claimed to be the only outlet at Sydney Airport offering authentic Chinese cuisine.
The opening of Terrace Chinese Kitchen builds on the expansion of Plaza Premium Group in the Australian market after the Sky Team Exclusive Lounge and American Express Lounge opened in Sydney in 2015. The first independent airport lounge in the Plaza Premium network also opened in Brisbane last year, followed by the Wellness Spa.
