USA. PHL Food & Shops, the concessions programme at Philadelphia International Airport, is offering a new service from Grab and AtYourGate for the contactless ordering and delivery of food and drinks. The agreement means that Philadelphia is the world’s first airport to offer the digital solution.
Grab, the airport ecommerce platform that allows users to order meals through a variety of digital channels, recently partnered with AtYourGate, the leading provider of in-airport food delivery to offer a seamless F&B service.
Air passengers and airport employees can order and have food delivered via the Grab app or by scanning various Grab QR codes placed throughout Philadelphia International.
Participating F&B providers are searchable by food type and terminal, and orders can be delivered directly to gate, helping to ensure enhanced safety and social distancing measures in the airport for the COVID-19 era.
The current list of participating restaurants includes Auntie Anne’s, Bar Symon, Bud & Marilyn’s, California Pizza Kitchen, Chickie’s & Pete’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Gachi, Geno’s Steaks, Jack Duggan’s, Jamba, Piattino Pizza, Smashburger and Vino Volo.
MarketPlace PHL Vice President and General Manager Mel Hannah said: “The Grab airport app featuring delivery by AtYourGate offers our travellers a contactless solution to ordering their favourite food right from their mobile devices.”
He added: “The health and wellbeing of our passengers and employees is our top priority, and we’re excited to now offer delivery as an option. Simply find what you want, order, and relax while you wait for your flight.”
