CENTRAL/EASTERN EUROPE. Dr. Patrick Bohl, Head of Retail and Advertising at Budapest Airport, has been named as Chairman of the Central & Eastern European Travel Retail Association (CEETRA).
The association, which supports the travel retail industry in Central and Eastern Europe, held its Annual General Meeting at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on 23 January.
Bohl succeeds Dr. Fritz Janach, who stepped down after having served as Chairman since October 2016. The members also welcomed to the board Dr. Jennifer Cords, who is Director of Corporate Affairs and Compliance at Gebr Heinemann.

Bohl commented: “Despite the significant contribution to our region’s economy, the travel retail business is still widely misunderstood and often overlooked by policy makers in the region. Our increasing member base and the cooperation with ETRC will ensure an exchange of knowledge and best practice among members.”
The Association acknowledged the achievements of Janach, who said: “We are pleased about what we have achieved in our short existence and we have seen our membership grow steadily. Our members are the driving force behind the association, and it is their voice and their issues that we focus upon.”
Janach added: “One of the achievements is the recurring annual event – the Travel Retail Forum usually held in October – which has a particular focus on our region.”
