US. The Paradies-Mark II Shops joint venture stands to gain several new locations in a major concessions overhaul at Milwaukee Mitchell International airport.
The new leases won the unanimous endorsement of the airport board’s Transportation, Public Works and Transit Committee this week. The full board is due to give its final approval on 24 July.
Under the US$4.3 million refurbishment plan, the main shopping mall in the terminal will gain a number of airport exclusives, such as the first Brooks Brothers store in Milwaukee and the first PGA Tour Shop in Wisconsin – two franchises of the Atlanta-based Paradies Shops. A local retailer Renaissance Books, the airport’s unique used book store and the House of Harley-Davidson will gain contract renewals.
Other stores such as Four Winds Gift Shop, the Country Store and the Quality Candy shop are expected to close or have the opportunity to trade in a new shop-in-shop area called The Milwaukee River Marketplace.
Paradies-Mark II Shops – a joint venture of The Paradies Shops and Milwaukee businessman Mark Wade – will operate stores for Brooks Brothers, PGA Tour Shop, Net Connect @ MKE, an Internet kiosk area, The Milwaukee River Marketplace, newsstands branded as CNBC News Milwaukee and Lakeview TravelMart.
