Paradies Lagardère captures key concessions at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport

USA. Paradies Lagardère, the North American travel retailer and restaurateur, has been awarded two major concession packages at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International (CVG) Airport.

The company said that the new concepts include ‘powerhouse’ as well as proprietary brands, and will give travellers “a sense of place, celebrate the region and all it offers”.

“Our proprietary concepts speak to the history, culture and exciting future for the city of Cincinnati and the region.” – Paradies Lagardère President and CEO Gregg Paradies

Several of the travel retailer’s concepts have been designed specifically to relate to the city of Cincinnati. These include Over-the-Rhine-Market, named after a Cincinnati neighbourhood, which will offer basic travel necessities and grab and go food items.

Seven Hills Essentials, a reference to Cincinatti’s nickname, will offer foods, gifts and sports-themed merchandise featuring Cincinatti’s Reds, Bengals, and Buckeyes. And Gaslight Gifts, a nod to Cincinnati’s history and its Gaslight District, will offer travel basics and gourmet foods, gifts and souvenirs.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport CEO Candace McGraw said: “We’re excited that the new CVG shops will elevate the customer experience while bringing in local flair and providing another avenue to tell the story of our region’s unique offerings to travellers.”

Other outlets from Paradies Lagardère’s winning bid include sweets specialist semisweet; Books, Barrels, and Bridges selling snacks, magazines and books; Queen City Exposition offering gourmet foods, gifts and souvenirs; No Boundaries, specialising in outdoor apparel and accessories; and The Scoreboard, which will be trading licensed sports apparel and accessories.

Paradies Lagardère’s winning proposal also included introducing several major brands to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport such as its own Today store, TripAdvisor, Floxbox, CNBC, Brooks Brothers, Brighton and Spanx.

The Trip Advisor store will feature Floxbox by Kendu, a new-generation LED display that combines textile images with motion effects and dynamic animation, allowing travellers to explore the region through screen images.

Easy pay options such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Mobile POS will be part of the offer.

Paradies Lagardère President and CEO Gregg Paradies said: “We’re confident that the retail programme Paradies Lagardère has put together for CVG Airport will offer travellers an enhanced customer experience unlike any other. Our proprietary concepts speak to the history, culture and exciting future for the city of Cincinnati and the region, and we’re offering several popular brands for travellers to enjoy.

“Paradies Lagardère has also incorporated innovation and technology into these offerings, which will not only make purchases more convenient for travellers, but provide an enhanced customer experience.”
