On location in Hainan: A wonder of the duty free world takes shape in Haikou

CHINA. In the latest episode of its popular ‘Weekly Shop Visit’, New Hainan brings exclusive video and pictorial coverage of the Haikou International Duty Free City development in Hainan province, reproduced here by agreement*.

When opened in September, Haikou International Duty Free City will be the world’s largest duty free shopping mall.

New Hainan’s aerial footage shows the completion of the building’s vast roof. “The roof closure is of great significance in the construction of the Haikou International Duty Free City Duty Free Commercial Centre,” writes reporter Wang Chengxian.

New Hainan is owned by Hainan Hinews Media Co, The Moodie Davitt Report’s strategic partner in Hainan province. The two media houses, leaders in their respective fields, have an exclusive information-sharing alliance to bring coverage of Hainan’s booming offshore duty free sector to the widest possible Chinese and international audience.
