AUSTRALIA. Heinemann Australia has today (16 February) unveiled a spectacular new luxury beauty, fashion and accessories store at Sydney Airport Terminal 1. The store forms an integral part of the airport’s enhanced Luxury Precinct (see panel).

The Heinemann Australia store features what the travel retailer called a complete rethinking of its store design and assortment across fragrance, skincare, makeup, watches and jewellery, bolstered by the introduction of fashion and accessories.

It features many Australian airport-exclusive brands across categories including fragrance, skincare, makeup, watches and jewellery.

The retailer said the new duty free environment is emblematic of its signature design aesthetic of creating a luxury sense of place.

The spacious store offers customers what Heinemann describes as “an iconic and unique experience that connects back to the essence of Sydney and the beauty of its coastline, with clear visibility and elegant lines”.

This serves as a “compelling stage” for a stellar line-up of world-renowned brands and exclusive products, Heinemann said.

The store design also complements and anchors Sydney Airport’s new and much-expanded luxury boutique line-up, the largest collection of luxury brands in Australian retail.

The Australian airport-exclusive fashion and accessories brands in the store include Chloé, Kenzo, Lanvin and the MM6 Maison Margiela collection. Heinemann has also extended its watches and jewellery range, with the introduction of Piaget, Hublot, Breitling, Qeelin and Messika, many of which are available in an Australian airport for the first time.

As part of the redevelopment, Heinemann has increased the space dedicated to beauty in order to accommodate a larger suite of brands. These include experiential and boutique spaces for La Prairie (the Art of Beauty Suite), Kylie Cosmetics, Fresh, Chloé, Hermès Beauty, Burberry and Acqua di Parma, which are also available at an Australian airport for the first time, exclusively at Heinemann.

Other illustrious names on offer include Lanvin, Chanel Espace Parfum and a host of top international and Australian brands across categories.

Heinemann Australia Managing Director George Tsoukalas said: “We are delighted to bring in an array of new and exclusive brands and travelling experiences for our customers. With our new stores, complementing our existing world-class wines and spirits, confectionery and local products assortment, Heinemann at Sydney Airport is a shopping destination not to be missed.”

Sydney Airport Executive General Manager of Commercial Mark Zaouk said: “In 2019, we set out to change the face of luxury at Sydney Airport and I’m delighted to see our vision come together with the completion of Heinemann’s new store.

“Meticulous work has gone into creating a luxury shopping destination worth arriving early for, from the layout and design of the new precinct to the superior experiences available in each of the luxury stores.”

He added: “International travellers can look forward to curated brand, culinary and luxury experiences, as we continue to innovate and position Sydney Airport as a key player on the world stage of luxury.”

Heinemann pointed out that travellers looking to make the most of the new shopping experience need not worry about overweight baggage or having to carry their purchases throughout their trip. The travel retailer is offering Click & Collect and Shop & Collect services, where shoppers can buy online or in-store and collect their products at a Heinemann pick-up counter at their convenience.

Heinemann has been operating in Sydney Airport since 2015, when it won the nearly 10,000sq m master duty free concession in Terminal 1. Its duty free concession contract was renewed in 2019 for an additional ten years.
