Old Pulteney highlights travel retail range with European airport activations

The activations aim to evoke the spirit of Old Pulteney’s home in Wick, Scotland

Scotch whisky brand Old Pulteney, part of the International Beverage portfolio, is hosting a series of activations with travel retail partners at European airports to highlight its 13 Year Old travel retail-exclusive expression.

The campaign, which started in July at Edinburgh Airport (with Dufry), runs through August at Warsaw Chopin Airport and in September at Luton Airport (each with Lagardère Travel Retail).

Each activation aims to bring a sense of the coastal flavours of Pulteney distillery to travellers.

The brand’s travel retail portfolio includes a 10 Year Old and a 16 Year Old, alongside the new 13 Year Old, which launched this summer.

Each expression is described as complex in rich, warming flavours and finishes with a hint of sea salt that comes from the North Sea air lapping the maturing casks.

In a first for the brand, Old Pulteney is being featured on the check-in screens at Edinburgh Airport as part of this campaign.

Old Pulteney Distillery Manager Malcolm Waring said: “We’re really excited to bring a sense of our home, on the rugged Caithness Coast, to those travelling across Europe this summer. Each expression in our travel retail range embodies our classic Old Pulteney style, and offers a deliciously distinctive flavour with briny undertones that comes from being lovingly matured by the sea.

“As Old Pulteney continues to go from strength to strength across international markets, we’re looking forward to giving travellers all over the world the opportunity to experience The Maritime Malt.”

Old Pulteney 10 Year Old and 13 Year Old are available in one-litre bottles, with Old Pulteney 16 Year Old available in a 70cl bottle.

The Old Pulteney 13 Year Old retails at £65 (US$83). ✈
