Nuance integrates Hong Kong and Singapore divisions

Alessandra Piovesana: New role heading Nuance’s integrated Asia Pacific division

ASIA PACIFIC. The Nuance Group announced today that it is integrating its joint-venture operations Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) and Nuance-Watson (Singapore) into a single regional structure. The aim, said the company, is to “optimise the market potential and synergies of its airport retailing businesses in Asia”.

Alessandra Piovesana is appointed as the Regional Managing Director Asia with the mission to “explore new markets and other complementary business opportunities in Asia”.

The Nuance Group said: “Alessandra has been with Nuance-Watson since 1999 and over the years she has laid a solid foundation to the business, built a strong management team and achieved excellent results.

“In her new role Alessandra is tasked with bringing the Asian travel retail business to another level of success. Accordingly [Nuance-Watson (Singapore) Managing Director] Ken Tse and his team will report to Alessandra.

“Ken has played a pivotal role in establishing and developing the Singapore Perfumes and Cosmetics business, growing it to become the largest in the category for a single airport within The Nuance Group portfolio, and the recipient of several awards.

“Ken will continue to manage the business in Singapore with collaborative support from Hong Kong, and will also actively participate in various projects within the Asia region, both in the Perfumes and Cosmetics category and in other developments.”

As reported last week, The Nuance Group has a new 50% shareholder, private equity firm PAI Partners, after Stefanel sold its stake in the travel retailer.
