US. Northwest Duty Free Stores has opened a travel retail store in the extraordinary new 73,000sq ft Future of Flight Aviation Center in Washington.

Director Peter Bellecy told The Moodie Report: “We are operating the gift store (duty free/travel retail). Our products range from Pacific Northwest art/foods and wines to clothing and all the products of duty free.”

The store sells a combination of duty paid goods as well as duty free on a catalogue basis.

The US$23 million Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour opened last autumn. The Boeing Company, Future of Flight Foundation, Snohomish County Public Facilities District and the Snohomish County Airport (Paine Field) sought to create a unique interpretive center to help visitors look into the future of commercial aviation.

By incorporating and expanding the existing Boeing Tour, the Future of Flight offers a remarkable opportunity to see both commercial jet production today and the direction aviation is headed in the future.

It includes the Future of Flight Store and the Boeing Store. Gifts range from educational materials and travel items to tee shirts and toys
