Nemiroff reports +12% sales rise in 2021, duty free returns to growth

Nemiroff vodka has reported a +12% rise in 2021 volume sales year-on-year to 5.63 million nine-litre cases, despite the impact of the pandemic. In the duty free & travel retail channel, the company said that it returned to growth after sales halved a year earlier.

The company stated that it achieved a “high performance” in duty free, and cited its ranking among the top three premium vodka brands since 2016. It said: “Although this sector is one of those that suffered most from the pandemic, in 2021 sales [in duty free] turned to growth, especially in the premium segment.”

Also in 2021, Nemiroff entered ten new markets and said it strengthened its position in existing markets.

The Nemiroff premium range: The company offered an upbeat assessment of prospects for 2022

“We are pleased with the strong results and remain confident in our ability to deliver sustainable long-term growth, confirmed by our 150-year history,” said CEO Yuriy Sorochynskiy. “All our efforts are [committed to delivering] high-quality products and bold tastes to consumers around the world. Focusing on consumers’ increasing preferences for premium spirits, we plan to introduce some innovations later this year.”

Nemiroff said it expects further global brand expansion in 2022, driven by a continued improvement in sales and a marketing drive behind new products.

The company also cited a recent market report from the Wine and Spirit Trade Association, which found that vodka remained the most popular spirit to drink at home. It noted: “With the development of mixology culture, Nemiroff is attracting new consumers who are searching for quality products and new taste sensations.”
