Nemiroff cancels manufacturing license in Russia

UKRAINE. Ukraine’s leading spirits company Nemiroff has revoked its license covering the manufacture of products under its brand name in Russia due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In a statement, Nemiroff said legal documents were sent on 28 February.

The company’s production facility in Nemyriv – a city in Ukraine’s Vinnytsia region – boasts a history of over 150 years, supplying products to over 80 countries and in travel retail.

Nemiroff CEO Yuri Sorochinsky said: “Nemiroff is proud to be Ukrainian. We condemn military aggression and encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Today we are all united to defend freedom and the independence of Ukraine. This is our land, our people, our future.”

In a note to The Moodie Davitt Report last week, Nemiroff Global PR Sofiya Makaruk said: “In terms of human safety, our Nemiroff distillery is temporarily closed.” She added that some employees have joined the armed forces.

“Yesterday I received a huge number of emails, messages, phone calls with many words of support from all our friends around the globe. I would like to thank all of you for your concern and support.”
