Mondelez drives industry collaboration with launch of Trinity Engine

Mondelez World Travel Retail (WTR) has used The Trinity Forum 2014 in Taipei to unveil the industry’s first app for modelling collaborations across the travel retail value chain.

The free app – the Trinity Engine (www.trinityengine.com) – was revealed during a presentation by Mondelez WTR Customer Marketing Manager Anna Szentivanyi. It aims to visualise the dynamics of partnerships and create approaches to Trinity cooperation that balance risk and reward.

Szentivanyi reveals Trinity Engine at The Trinity Forum 2014, concluding in Taipei today

Szentivanyi explained: “Closer collaboration and greater openness between Trinity partners is the key to sustainable investment and growth in our industry; Mondelez WTR has developed Trinity Engine to help make this a reality.

“Used as a starting point for collaborative planning of Trinity activities, Trinity Engine shows the big picture of the travel retail value chain, highlights how our business decisions impact all parties in the Trinity and fuels more informed decision making.

“I would encourage travel retail professionals, regardless of their roles, to explore Trinity Engine and see how it may be used to enhance their planning activities and strengthen their partnerships.”

The app aims to visualise the dynamics of partnerships between the three Trinity stakeholders

Trinity Engine offers two modes. The “˜base scenario’ is derived from the real-life financials of three retailers, four airports and five brand owners – it shows how a business decision might affect financial outcomes across the Trinity.

A “˜custom scenario’ mode allows users to build their and their partners’ own financials into the model. The app runs on PCs, Macs and tablets.

Mondelez WTR Managing Director Andreas Fehr added: “As a category and industry leader, Mondelez WTR has an obligation to act as a driver of positive change.

“We have therefore invested in the development of the Trinity Engine in order to empower users to better understand the dynamics of the travel retail value chain across all categories and to ensure that risks and rewards are more evenly shared between all parties.

“We hope this tool can contribute to an even brighter future for the travel retail industry.”

The Trinity Forum 2014 is concluding today at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. It is organized by The Moodie Report, ACI World and ACI Asia-Pacific.

NOTE:: The Moodie Report will publish a full report on this important development next week.
