Middle East Exclusive 2005

MIDDLE EAST. Some 2,144 visitors attended Middle East Exclusive this year, an increase of +6.5% over last years.

The event, held on 6-8 December and organised by Channels Exhibitions, was endorsed by the Middle East Duty Free Association (MEDFA). It was opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony by His Excellency Obeib Humeid Al Tayer, President of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

VIP guests from Dubai and other regional countries attended, including Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Colm McLoughlin who is also President of MEDFA. The pictures below capture some of the spirit of the event.

Destination merchandise (left) was strongly to the fore, as was the conspicuous support of MEDFA and Dubai Duty Free.

Phoenicia Trading, creators of the incredible Beirut Duty Free cigar area, took one of the exhibition’s largest stands (left) as they celebrated an extended distribution agreement with Cuban cigar supplier Habanos; a strongly Arabic theme on some stands highlighted the regional nature of the event which dovetailed nicely with the international brands on show.
