Michael Barrett joins The Moodie Davitt Report in key events and CSR role

INTERNATIONAL. Michael Barrett has been appointed Events and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Director at The Moodie Davitt Report, effective 20 August.

He is currently Executive Officer at the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA), a position he has held since July 2010. Before that he also worked at TFWA as Conference & Research Manager from 2006 to 2013. Besides his events and executive experience, Michael has an impressive background in CSR projects and fund-raising. He has a BA in Modern Languages & European Studies from Bath University.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “We are excited that Michael is joining our team to drive our successful events business and to lead our strong and growing Corporate Social Responsibility agenda.”

APTRA PAYS TRIBUTE AND SEEKS REPLACEMENT

Since his appointment in July 2010, Barrett has helped to build the association into a dynamic organisation that supports and nurtures the duty free & travel retail industry in Asia Pacific, APTRA said.

APTRA has embarked on recruiting a suitable candidate to replace Barrett and continue the valuable work of the Association.

APTRA President Andrew Ford commented: “On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Michael for all he has done to build APTRA and take it from its infant stage to its maturity as a strong regional duty free association. His energy, dedication and resourcefulness have contributed enormously to the co-ordination of APTRA’s advocacy campaigns, the management of a wide-ranging research programme and the development of respected seminars and training initiatives. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
